Castlevania 3 is one of my favourite NES games of all time. Not only was it your typical Castlevania game, but you had choices galore. Multiple ways to beat the game, many bosses, and many OTHER characters to play as. My favourite was the monkey man that could climb walls, couldn't get enough of that guy....
Driveling aside though, if you like Castlevania and want a retro game, this should be the one, it was excellent, and tough as nails as well. The only classic Castlevania I'd recommend more so than this one would be Super Castlevania which was the top dog of the retro Castlevania titles.
