Mario 64 changed the way we played platformer games forever and still holds as one of the best designed platformers to date. Many games try but no games ever come close to being half as polished as the Mario experience.
I recall despising platformer games simply because I played this one first. Until Jak and Daxter 2 I honestly thought this genre was best left in the capable hands of Mario.
Regardless! Mario is the king of his genre. Play all his games as they're all pretty fantastic with the exception of Mario is Missing... What a nightmare.
